NHPC IPOFinally its working fine i myself tested it for a friends folio number , for 1925 applied he got alloted 523 shares.
As of i know this is the first time i have seen that a company has come out with allotment status in just may be 1 week time.

NHPC IPONational Hydro Power Corporation a State-run power company has finally come out with the decision on the IPO , This IPO is like one fo the biggest in a year or so and one of the State Run PSU coming out with IPO after REC.
The Empowered group of Ministers (EGoM) chaired by Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee met on Friday evening and finalised a price band between Rs 30 and Rs 36 per share , Ya this is the same group which has to even decide on the 3G spectrum allotment which said they postpone because Mr. Ak Anthony was not available to take part in the meeting , anyway coming back to this NHPC IPO it plans to raise nearly Rs 6,000 crore through sale of shares in a price-band of Rs 30-36 in an IPO (initial public offer).

NHPC Limited (Formerly known as National Hydroelectric Power Corporation Ltd.), A Govt. of India Enterprise, was incorporated in the year 1975 with an authorised capital of Rs. 2000 million and with an objective to plan, promote and organise an integrated and efficient development of hydroelectric power in all aspects. Later on NHPC expanded its objects to include other sources of energy like Geothermal, Tidal, Wind etc.

NHPC has a current capacity of 5175 megawatts (MW) and plans to have a capacity of 9600 MW by 2013.

The company, wholly-owned by the government, had filed DRHP with the capital markets regulator SEBI in April 2007. The IPO was proposed to include over 111 crore fresh equity shares and offer for sale of more than 55 crore shares.
The government had approved the planned IPO in December 2006. The company proposes to add a capacity of 5,300 MW in the 11th five year plan.
