Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is an all India examination administered and conducted jointly by the Indian Institute of Science and seven Indian Institutes of Technology on behalf of the National Coordination Board – GATE, Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India.
The GATE committee, which comprises of representatives from the administering institutes, is the sole authority for regulating the examination and declaring the results.
GATE is conducted through the constitution of eight zones. The zones and the corresponding administrative institutes are:
Zone-1: Indian Institute of Science Bangalore
Zone-2: Indian Institute of Technology Bombay
Zone-3: Indian Institute of Technology Delhi
Zone-4: Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati
Zone-5: Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur
Zone-6: Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur
Zone-7: Indian Institute of Technology Madras
Zone-8: Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee
The overall coordination and responsibility of conducting GATE 2010 lies with Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati, designated as the Organising Institute for GATE 2010 .

educompEducomp is not having good education nowadays , they are getting battered everyday on allegation which has started almost 20 days back that they are fudging the accounts ,I have even wrote about it in another post , they are still saying that they are not doing anything wrong and they have not done any fudging , the problem today was the corporate affairs ministry ordered inspection of accounts of the company over alleged accounting frauds.

Educomp stock has lost almost 32.85 percent in past one month.
Results
Educomp Solutions’ net profit rose 24.3 percent to Rs 31.55 crore on a 48 percent rise in sales to Rs 145.28 crore in Q3 December 2008 over Q2 September 2008. The Annualized EPS is standing at 73 or so which discounts the PE at todays rate of 1490 to almost 20.35

educompEducomp rose almost 4 percent today after the news hit the street that they bought 51 percent stake in learning.com , but as the marketr saw some see saw action it closed down by 33 rs.The Stake news is as follows.
Educomp has acquired 51 per cent stake in Learning.com, and has invested a total of $24.5 million in the transaction, which included the purchase of existing shares as well as infusion of fresh capital into the company. Through this deal, Educomp has got distribution access to over 800 districts and leverages its substantial content development and IT capabilities to reach out to North American markets.
