Apple iPhone 3GS finally to be launched in India.Thne rumpour was there for almost a year or so , and still we will not be sure until the phone is getting officially released in india , There is also news that they will have extra mobile players coming in like aircel and also reliance with addition to already exisiting airtel and vodafone , but the funny thing is both MTNL and BSNL doesnt seem to come in picture at all as they are the only one who is offering 3G presently in india.Will give more info when the news is official.

Bharti Airtel Ltd has informed the market that Airtel was awarded with top honors in the GSMA Mobile World Congress Conference in Barcelona for its mChek solution in the category “Best Billing / Customer Care Solution”.This is really big for them i know how big is this conference and winning there really gives them very good world exposure.

About mChek – the application that makes possible Anytime-Anywhere Bill Payment allows customers to sign- up for the service through their mobile phone in a matter of seconds and make payment transactions for mobile bill / insurance premiums / transfer funds from bank accounts to name a few. mChek as a service was introduced with an aim to enhance customer delight and provide them yet another simple, secure option for payments through mobile.

Bharti Airel has informed the market today that on December 08, 2007, Bharti Infratel Ltd, Idea Cellular Ltd and Vodafone Essar Ltd have agreed to form a independent tower Company named Indus Towers Ltd, to provide infrastructure services to all operators just not the three company on a non discriminatory basis.The investment ratio is in the form of Bharti and Vodafone Essar will own approximately 42% each and Idea will own the remaining 16% stake in Indus Towers. Indus Towers will have approximately 70,000 sites , this will reduce the operating cost atleast for this three company first and then other operators who are going to use this service , finally it will be us who will; benefit from this.

Bharti Airtel Ltd has posted a net profit of Rs 16191.50 million for the quarter ended September 30, 2007 as compared to Rs 8883.50 million for the quarter ended September 30, 2006. Total Revenue has increased from Rs 42129.80 million for the quarter ended September 30, 2006 to Rs 61185.30 million for the quarter ended September 30, 2007.

Bharti Airtel Ltd has announced the market that it will partner with the Government of Gujarat in the prestigious eGRAM Connectivity Infrastructure Project. Under this first-of-its kind project in the Country, the Company will set up telecom infrastructure to connect 13,716 Village Panchayats and Common Service Centre in the state. “Bharti Telemedia, a subsidiary of the Company on August 07, 2007 announced that it plans to launch the Direct To Home (DTH) (Satellite TV broadcast) services by the last quarter of FY 2007-08. The Company has received the Letter of Intent (LoI) for commencing its DTH services from the Union Ministry of Information & Broadcasting.”

Bharti holds 30 percent holding in Bharti Telemedia .


Bharti Airtel Declares 2007-2008 First Quarter Results

Bharti Airtel has come out with first quarter results. The details is as follows.
Net Profit
The company has posted consolidated growth of 11.75% in its first quarter net profit of Rs 1512 crore (Rs 15.12 billion) as against Rs 1,353 crore (Rs 13.53 billion) in the previous quarter.
Net Revenue
Revenue increased by 9.56% to Rs 5909 crore (Rs 59.09 billion) versus Rs 5,393.2 crore in earlier quarter. EBITDA margin stood at 41.4%.
This is more than expectation but they are seen declined in so many aspects like APRU and net received per minute which is seel at 81 paise against 85 paise.

Bharti Airtel reduces the ISD rates for USA and Canada

Bharti Airtel Ltd has announced a 39% reduction in International Long Distance Tariffs (ISD) to USA and Canada for its mobile users in India.So from a tariff of 3.5 rs or so it has come down to 2 rs per minute to US.


Bharti Airtel announces Q4 2007 results

Bharti Airtel Q4 net profit up 11.3% at Rs 1353 crore versus Rs 1215 crore, QoQ. The revenues of the company in Q4 was up 10.2% at Rs 5393 versus Rs 4892.9 crore, QoQ.It’s EBIDTA in Q4 stood at Rs 2241 crore versus Rs 2005.5 crore in Q3FY07.The company posted net profit of Rs 4257 crore in FY07 versus Rs 2258.5 crore in FY06


Bharti and Vodafone relationship is getting worse because of Essar

Bharti may no longer be the preferred carrier for Vodafone-Essar’s National Long-Distance (NLD) and International Long-Distance (ILD) traffic and also Bharti may not get Vodafone’s international users to roam on Bharti’s network in India.Essar doesn’t want vodafone to share the infra with Bharti Airtel.
One casualty of the Vodafone Essar deal may be the Vodafone Bharti deal. Essar wants Vodafone to end its partnership with Bharti and Vodafone may have to oblige to get their new partnership going


Bharti Airtel lowers BlackBerry cost and also entry cost

Bharti Airtel Ltd has announced that the Company reinforced its commitment to drive affordability in the Indian telecom market by brining down the entry cost for its Prosumer users of BlackBerry.With effect from March 01, 2007, Airtel has reduced the fixed monthly rental for BlackBerry from Rs 1099/- per month to Rs 249 per month. In this new plan apart from the fixed monthly rental, Airtel BlackBerry users will be charged Rs 0.15/- per Kb of usage.Airtel has also brought down the price of the popular BlackBerry 7100g handset to Rs 10,999/-.


Bharti Airtel to buy 5.6 % of its stake from Vodafone

Bharti Airtel Ltd has informed BSE that, pursuant to Vodafone acquiring a controlling interest in Hutchison Essar Ltd, Bharti Group has an arrangement to buy the 5.6% direct interest of Vodafone in the Company for US$ 1.6 billion, on a deferred payment basis.
Vodafone will continue to hold an indirect 4.4% economic interest in the Company, as a financial investor and will not have any representation on the Company’s board nor any management rights.


Sunil Mittal’s Bharti Enterprises, which had announced its franchising agreement with US retail giant Wal-Mart to start a chain of retail stores in India, has said that would invest about $7 billion dollars in it by 2010.
The retail joint venture with Wal-Mart will set up 200 large super market stores and hundreds of smaller large-format stores to cater to an estimated 300-million strong the increasingly affluent Indian middle class of an estimated.
