Mahindra and Mahindra announces May 2008 Auto Sales Number , The Combined automotive sales, including exports in May 2008, were at 20,653 vehicles, as against 17,881, in the corresponding period last year, an increase of 15.5%.Total automotive domestic sales for May 2008 stood at 19,296 vehicles, as against 17,079 vehicles in May 2007, registering a growth of 13%.Automotive exports for May 2008 stood at 1357 vehicles, as against 802 vehicles in May 2007.

Tata Motors came out with the auto sales number for May 2008 , they reported a total sale of 46,339 vehicles (including exports) for the month of May 2008, a growth of 9% compared to 42,558 vehicles sold in May last year.
Exports
The company’s sales from exports at 3,423 vehicles in May 2008 declined by 20% compared to 4,303 vehicles in May 2007. The cumulative sales from exports for the fiscal at 5,728 nos. declined by 31% over 8,340 nos. in the same period last year.
P.S : We will see the sales figure and the normal auto numbers when Tata Nano is getting rolled out .

Minda Industries Ltd (MIL) has informed BSE that the Company has bagged orders to the tune of Rs 50 Crores from Volkswagen for the supply of headlamps and rear combination lamps for its upcoming models in India. we all know that colswagen is opening shop in india for manufacturing cars in india ,This news is good for all auto ancillary company and more and more orders will flow for company like minda industries.The orders also include supply of rear combination lamps for the global model being manufactured in Russia. The Company will supply these from its existing facility at Chakan, Pune. The Company is also conducting feasibility studies for setting up a new lighting plant at Bawal in Haryana. MIL is in talks with other OEM’s for supply of headlamps and expects the turnover from lighting division to contribute Rs 225 - 250 Crores to the top line in the next 2 years.

Ashok Leyland March sales stood at 10,698 units Vs 8,437 units, an increase of almost 27% in sales. The stock has seen good movement after the sales numbers came out and is trading with gain of over 1.5%.The company had a domestic sales higher by 20%, at 9,542 vehicles. There were 7,929 vehicles for the month of Mar 2007. The exports for the month was higher by 128%, at 1156 nos. There were 83094 vehicles for the month of April to March 2007. Export volum for the year was 7286 nos. For the month of April-March was 605 nos. Stock has witnessed some buying after they reported the sales number.

| Hyundai motor today delcared its march 2008 sales number ,The company registered a robust growth in the month of March 2008, its highest ever monthly sales since inception, as it recorded an overall growth of 66.4% in March, 2008 over the same month last year. The domestic sales grew by 52.3% while the exports grew by 96.9% over March, 2007. |

The total sales stood at 47,001 units. Domestic market was like 29,401 units and exports totaled 17,600 units in March, 2008 compared to sales for March, 2007 had been 28,239 units with the domestic sales at 19,300 units and exports 8,939 units.
