Gammon Infrastructure Projects awarded Bridge Construction order

Gammon Infrastructure Projects informed the market that they have received LOI from andhra government for the construction of bridge across Godavari river from Rajamundry to Kovur.They are incharge of designing, constructing, financing, operating and maintaining on BOT basis .The total cost might be 800 crores , for now the Company will receive a total grant of Rs 207.55 crores , and they have concession for 25 years including the execution time of the project of 3 years.On the financial side Gammon infra reported a net profit of Rs 3.22 crore from the net sales of Rs 6.53 crore in Q1 June 2008.

What is happening to Vintage cards its almost hitting upper circfuit for like 5 or more than 5 trading session now and i has increased by 170 percent or so .The stock is locked in 10% upper circuit yesterday also.from Rs 45.85 after hitting upper circuit for 7 days its at its current market price of Rs 124.12.The company not even performed well in the quarter results it showed a loss of .51 crores , The only news is the board meeting is held today where they would decide on the renewal of agreement with Hallmark Cards Inc, USA.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average saw the points tumbling by  241.73 points, or 2.1%, to 11386.33, which almost erased 3 day winning streak.The market was impacted by financial sector and also by the carribean storm and also it was influenced by Home Sales which we have to say on the p[ositive side raised by a larger-than-expected amount but unsold inventory remains at very high level.

So Network 18 is trying to cash in on social networking and email site business and so they created a new site called WWW.in.com , wow a 2 letter website name god they would have paid heavily for this website , not sure when they had started this website but i came into touch with it only today , i was visiting moneycontrol.com and then i saw this new site , cool idea having you create a new email address and then link all the social network gadgets i have to say its like Google homepage , you just see the news , your portfolio , entertainment like songs and video and more and more .I don’t see ads yet but for sure that should eb the revenue model .What and all they give in the website.

Era Infra Engineering Ltd informed the market today that the Company has bagged a contract worth 42.35 crore and the project is for Construction of Industrial Worker Housing with Cost Effective Technologies for Narela Industrial Complex in delhi and Infrastructure Development Corporation Ltd (DSIIDC), the total worth of the project as told before is valuing Rs 42.35 Crores .the stock price infact fell today so not really much investors intrested in this news may be .
On the financial Side
Q1 June 2008 annualised EPS is at Rs 49.18, which leaves the currect rate of 480 or so by a PE multiple of 9.76. and also net profit fell 14.3% to Rs 28.40 crore but sales increased by 57.7% to Rs 390.93 crore in Q1 June 2008 over Q1 June 2007.

Tata Motors which is on one side fighting with the land problem that they have for the roll out of tata Nano silently on Saturday launched the new generation of the country’s first and fully indigenous car The Indica Vista. I have to say what and all i dint like in the existing Tata indica car when it coems to design has been corrected in this , the curves of the car is really good now , its like bloated version of Hyundai getz.The car has been given a complete makeover and comes with a 24-month warranty.

They are planning to sell seven variants of this model ranging from Rs. 3.49 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) for the 1.2 L petrol Safire for the low end and going up to Rs. 4.88 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) for the top end 1.3L Quadrajet.

The Inflation data came today and it was not really that was expected its low in 17 years i think , suddenly it had a good increase and its at 12.44 percent for the week ending August 2, 2008 stands at 12.44 per cent, higher than the rate of 12.01 per cent reported last week.

Crude Oil raises by 3 dollar a barrel

After US Government gave out the oil inventories which unexpectedly declined and gasoline stockpiles fell , Crude Oil went up by 3 dollar a barrel .This will have the Oil stock go up today like cairn energy , reliance petroleum and much more .

Rights Issue not to take more than 43 Days – Sebi Says

SEBI which had its board meet yesterday had different issues discusses 2 of the main issues it discussed was one on the P-Notes and the other on the rights issue time line, They did discuss on the P-Notes but did not take any final call on that but on the Rights Issue it said it had reduced the wait period from 109 days to 43 days and also said it can even go down below 43 days.

Larsen & Toubro informed the market today that company with many more consortium has bagged engineering, procurement and construction orders worth Rs 3,816 crore from the steel and zinc industry.This takes the order book to Rs 45,000 crore.The market really was not happy with the news the stock went down by more than 40 rs.on the financial side L&T’s net profit surged 33.3% to Rs 502.44 crore on 53.2% increase in net sales to Rs 6901.43 crore in Q1 June 2008 over Q1 June 2007.

Empee Distilleries is a stock which i always believed there is some value ,they are in alcoholic beverages irrespecive of climate this is something they go for.Infact i hold some stock of empee distilleries .The stock price is rallying for the second day this week. News behind that is they are on the expansion mode and has been completed TN plant while AP operations will start soon. The capacity is seen at 8.5 lk cases/month.There is also news that they are developing 2 lakh sq ft residential space in TN.

Panacea Biotec informed the market that it has received order worth 35 million US dollars from UNICEF to supply pentavalent vaccines, the order is almost worth 140 crore rs in indian money, This is forst time i have seen a unicef order coming to a indian medical company .On the financial side The company’s net profit fell 27.9% to Rs 34.05 crore on 3.8% decline in sales to Rs 224.48 crore in Q1 June 2008 over Q1 June 2007.

June 2008 Industrial Growth figure pull the market down

June industrial growth figure came out today and it stands at 5.4% versus 8.9% (YoY) versus 4.1% in May so when compared to may this year it was increase of 1 percent or so . While infrastructure output number stands at 3.4% versus 5.2% (YoY).
Sector Growth Figure
Capital goods growth has come out at 5.6 percent (YoY).
Manufacturing growth is at 5.9 percent versus 9.7 percent (YoY).
Consumer goods growth is at 10 percent
while mining growth is at 2.9 percent (YoY).
Electricity growth is at 2.6 percent (YoY).

Vishal Information Technologies, which saw its listing today gave a very big gain to all the investor the stock which listed at 130 in nse and 150 in bse which was just either below or at the ipo price , They saw only 1.1 time of subscription through IPO but finally they closed at at Rs 194.60 on the NSE, at a premium of 29.73% to its issue price of Rs 150. and on the BSE, the share closed at Rs 194.15 at a premium of 29.43%. On BSE its intraday high was at Rs 197.20 and intraday low was at Rs 145.
